It's that time again!

Our Invercargill Christmas Lights Showcase is back, and we couldn't be more thrilled. This annual tradition is a highlight for our community, and we can't wait to see the stunning displays that fill our streets with holiday cheer. Be Quick! Entries close 24 November 2025

 

Entry Details

  • Entries: Close 24 November 2025.
  • Signage: Will be erected at your property between 27 November and 1 December 2025.
  • Photography: The Southland Times photography team will be taking photos between 4 and 7 December 2025, approximately between 10 pm and 1 am.
  • Please note: If you wish to submit your own photography, email it to invmarketing@redcoats.co.nz by Friday, 5 December 2025.
    Image specifications: Horizontal photos only (maximum of two). Ideally, capture the whole display; if this is not possible, partial shots are acceptable. All images must be high-resolution and sharp. Only one image will be used as the hero image for the competition.
  • Judging: Will take place for the judged prize section between 11 and 16 December 2025.
  • Judged prizes: Best New Entry, plus three further prizes for entries—new or returning—that impress the judges.
  • Public viewing: A list of participating addresses will be available to the public from 29 November 2025 on our social media, website, and in Homed in The Southland Times.
  • Facebook: The People's Choice competition will run from 9 to 17 December 2025, with a prize for the most-liked house.
  • Winners: Will be notified and announced on Facebook and in print from 17 December 2025.

Terms and Conditions

By entering this competition, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

We may check that entries are valid and reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or breaches these terms and conditions. Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to this competition or community event. Entrants consent to the use of their image and address in any media, for an unlimited period, without payment, in relation to promoting this competition (including any outcome). Prizes are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Professionals accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury suffered (including indirect or consequential loss) as a result of participating in this competition or using the prize, except where liability cannot be excluded by law. In the event of any dispute, the decision of Professionals is final. We reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value or to amend, extend, or cancel the competition at any time. No correspondence will be entered into.

Entry is limited to one eligible household within the Invercargill city boundary (no business or organisation entries).

To recognise your participation, an ‘entrant’ sign will be placed at the front of your property by our Professional Signage team.
